You'll notice a wee bit of performance increase and faster reboots on typical systems. Of course the latter doesn't really matter much since you probably rarely reboot server machines (they don't crash.) On news servers you'll think that Justin & Ken snuck in overnight, jacked up the radiator cap and replaced your system from the ground up. The performance improvement to our 2.2.6-May201998-STABLE system was _that_ dramatic.
