Please refer to http://gnustep.org/ for more information regarding this. I assume that you are looking for a user interface that is similar to NEXTSTEP; if this is true, you should check out Window Maker (www.windowmaker.info), which is also mentioned within GNUstep's website. To have Window Maker start on boot automatically, please refer to the FreeBSD Handbook and read Chapter 5 ( http:// www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/books/handbook/x11.html ) As for GNUstep, it will automatically configure your environment when your system boots. Your system accomplishes this with the script /usr/ local/etc/rc.d/GNUstep.sh. If you wish to know more about how this script works and how to use it, please refer to the FreeBSD Handbook and read Chapter 11.7 ( http://www.freebsd.org/doc/en_US.ISO8859-1/ books/handbook/configtuning-rcd.html ).
