New opera 9 is available! This time along with static version it also has dynamic versions for 5.X and 6.X. Haven't checked how "static" version is built, but "dynamic" version for 6.X works very well on 6.1 and recently updated ports. In this setup Java plugin works too (finally!). -- Andriy Gapon
