>From my reading of the specification, this requires 'special knowledge'
that the manufacturer must provide you.  It's not part of the normal APM
support, nor is it documented except as some extensions manufacturers
are free to do with as they please.

I don't see it happening anytime soon, especially since very few laptops
support it.  (ThinkPads do, but the NEC's don't)
