It did not cease all by itself, but during the last two days I did (besides other things :-) 1 Install FreeBSD 4.2 STABLE from scratch 2 Upgrade to 4.3 BETA (cvsupped on 8.3.01) 3 Install StarOffice52 (which obviously was updated too - at least a 30 MB patch was downloaded which was not already present on my distfiles) Now any of these steps could have been the point, but I' quite sure I can exclude (1) - I reused my complete /etc directory, and the setup was OK (everything else worked fine).
