Hiho, I just got an ICP Vortex Raid Controller (GDT6523RS) and took a look at the CD. WOW! They're delivering a FreeBSD4.x/5.x Kernel Module AND complete source for statically linking that driver into the kernel. Mike said sth. about that drivers are going to be implemented into 4.3. I don't see anything in the release notes. What happend? Also on that CD is a console utility for configuring controller and raidsets, really, really exciting. Worked in my 4.2S testbox without any problems in a (the new) Intel SR2100 chassis, fully utilizing the integrated SCA hotswap-controller/ backplane. Errors and status messages are going into syslog, nice to see that. Someone has really thought about this one... And - in diffrence to our in-use AMI Megaraid cards, the devices get "daX"-naming, not that silly amrX.
