I'm not running 4.2R yet, so I can't comment on whether or not changes are needed, but look at mozilla/xpcom/reflect/xptcall/src/md/unix/ (and, in particular, xptc_platforms_unixish_x86.h) This may or may not help; as I said, I can't test it, but Mozilla's xpcom is extremely reliant on the layout of the vtable's that GCC generates differently between releases, and I noticed an update to the GCC C++ support in the release notes of 4.2R.
