using live CD/DVD make your new disklabel that mirrors existing but is in /dev/disk not /dev/diskslice, check it (try mount -r your partitions from /dev/disk[a-h]), clean MBR with fdisk, install bootrecord with bsdlabel -B /dev/disk then mount your / partition and fix etc/fstab it's not just about having few kB more space, but NOT having MS-partition table. for "religious" reason, for making thing simpler or less risky if you sometimes connect that drive to computer running windoze.
