Just make sure things are backed up, right? :-) I'm suggesting that something seems to be out of whack with your present installation. I've got over twelve machines of my own running WindowMaker and perhaps fourty others in my immediate vicinity. These are various versions of OS and WM up to the current products. I believe that CVSup and 'make {build,install}world will help get you back on track. Make sure to update both your /usr/src and /usr/ports trees and rebuild *all* dependencies. I build X from sources routinely here and recommend it to others too.
