I installed FreeBSD onto my computer. The computer just freezes after I type -c (or anything) at the BOOT: prompt. I think there is a conflict with my controller card. I have a Fast EIDE Controller (the Enchanced IDE Master VL) from SIIG. I changed to this controller card because I have 2 hard disks, a 1 gig and a 420 meg. My old controller card would not recognize the 1 gig hard disk. This is my current hard disk configuration: Drive 0: Boot Manager 1 meg Dos 6.2 350 meg OS/2 Warp 150 meg Data Space 500 meg Drive 1: FreeBSD 400 meg or boot FreeBSD 400 meg When I swapped my old controller card back into my computer, I was able to boot up FreeBSD. When I switched back to the new controller card, the computer just hung at the BOOT: prompt. Can you tell me what can be done to make Free BSD work with my new controller card? If you have any additional questions, please call me at work (510)824-2154. Thanks in advance for your assistance. Jim Chin..
