So?  For bpf people can point to a body of knowledge that shows why
this is bad.  Yet I've not seen what the implications that you see for
this are.

OK.  I've not looked at the new one.  I'll have to check it out for
myself.

I've seen one that produces information from some Toshiba specific APM
hooks.  It isn't in the tree.  I thought that I had added this IOCTL
to the man page for apm.4, but it appears that I was remiss in that.
It certainly was intended to be a supported interface.
