Hi!

For normal 2D/3D operation, you should have a look at the TNT2 cards, like
the Viper 770 or ELSA Erazor III series. Chap got a V770 running under
Linux with a 19" screen.
He had a SUSE 6.2 Linux, the card was already pre-set for X-Windows. There
he only needed to copy the 3D-files manually.

Other good solution is the G400 from Matrox. Real screamer, good picture
quality, and capable of 2 vid outs. Question is the X-Server support...
Have seen it only under Win95, and there it really rocked. But as all those
Linux ppl will work on it, there should be a solution soon.=20

For special apps like CAD you will want to look at special CAD boards or
similar...

Hands off from those Voodoo3 and GeForce cards... They draw much too much
power, thus overheating power regulators...
