Heh, what a riot. :-) I still had my old Onyx machine sitting on a shelf until maybe 8 years ago. A guy in California who was still using them (!) called me up and asked to buy it for parts. It had still worked when I last turned it off, BTW. I gave it to him for $100 plus shipping. (It cost me $13000 new, no kidding!) He powered it up, and it booted and started running just like new. Then he decided to do something or other with his _only_ "system" tape. (It was probably the only one left in existence by that time.) Unfortunately, the tape drive's capstan roller had turned to tar over the years, and it totally destroyed the tape.
