I have installed 3.0-RELEASE on a new server, and upgraded to
3.0-STABLE. The machine has a Buslogic BT-958 (FW Rev. 5.07B) SCSI
card with seagate disks, all new.

I have been experiencing errors and sudden reboots every couple of
days at around 2:00 a.m. when the daily scripts run. Interestingly
enough though, I ran `make world' twice without any errors. In the
past, I have found that flaky hardware shows up right away during a
full build.

An example of the errors:
--

of 192 commands active!!!bt0: Encountered busy mailbox with 174 out of 192

I found these error messages in the buslogic driver
/usr/src/sys/dev/buslogic/bt.c, but I'm not quite sure what they mean.
I'm really not sure if this is a hardware error in the disk, the SCSI
board, or something else...

I ran all of the diagnostics that are available on the Buslogic card,
including an integrity check on the disk. Everything checks out okay
according to those tests.

Does anyone have any thoughts on this before I start replacing
hardware?

Thank you.

Regards,

Chuck
