Does anyone know what the stoppers are and where solutions needed? Some of the prerequisites for GIMP 2.8 are compiling well (as isolated packages, not in combination with gimp 2.8), like graphics/gegel (0.2.0) or x11/bab; 0.1.10 (port has still 0.1.6).
