Yep, one of the nagging things about dump is that it still thinks your
using a 9 track reel-to-reel. Kinda silly when you think about it. 
What you need to do is set b, B, s, and/or d. Look in the man page. 
I don't recall what I use at home. At work I use amanda, and again, I
don't know what it uses.

I used to use -s 16000 -d 54000 for and  exb-8200. I seem to remember
at home I use -b 126 -B 2000000 or something like that on my HP DAT.
