yes, man ifocnfig says

   ifconfig [-L] [-k] [-m] interface [create] [address_family] [address
        [dest_address]] [parameters]

The following parameters may be set with ifconfig:

   -alias  Remove the network address specified.  This would be used if you
           ...


Conclusion: -alias is a "parameter" and belongs to the end after
the address.

The it works for IPv4 is "pure luck".
