I wasn't really succesful getting the old versions of stuff .. however .. since I'd originally emailed about these problems, I got an AGP graphics card and a SCSI cdrom (enabling me to disable the 2nd IDE channel) I was able to force the on-board scsi channels to use irqs 10 and 11 (which I believe is what they should try to use) by juggling irqs a bit .. so they were definately using the right irqs, but still I get the "Test Unit Ready" stuff .. if anyone has any further hints (or direct pointers to help) I'd greatly appreciate it -- Barry Hughes #include It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion, it is by the beans of Java that thoughts acquire speed, the hands acquire shaking, the shaking becomes a warning, it is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion.
