The following reply was made to PR ports/78206; it has been noted by GNATS. From: pedersen@meridian-enviro.com To: "Anton Berezin" <tobez@tobez.org> Cc: FreeBSD-gnats-submit@freebsd.org Subject: Re: ports/78206: Update port: devel/p5-Parse-PerlConfig Date: Mon, 28 Feb 2005 14:46:55 -0600 (CST) I was not aware. To be honest, I don't have a *clue* what's going on behind the scenes or why perl ports are so hard to deal with. I'm just trying to keep Kris from deleting the port because it leaves files around after make deinstall and that's how he told me to fix it. (I do appreciate the work to clean up ports, but now I'm required to do something that isn't documented.) So did erwin fix the problem? If not, what should I do? > On Mon, Feb 28, 2005 at 12:22:22PM -0600, Leif Pedersen wrote: > >> MAN3= Parse::PerlConfig.3 > > You are aware of a bug in 5.005_03's MakeMaker, which will > lead this manpage to be missing on 4.X systems utilizing base > system perl, aren't you? > > This manpage either need to be installed conditionally (as > erwin has done some hours ago with the port), or Makefile.PL > should be patched to use MAN3PODS directly, without allowing > MakeMaker to do a [faulty] guess. > > \Anton. > -- > The moronity of the universe is a monotonically increasing function. > -- > Jarkko Hietaniemi > >
