I have seen talk about this on the list but never an answer.

My Machine Panic every 2 or 3 days and all I get is the bellow message in
the logs and a panic message on the console.

The console message is:
Panic:Ahc1: Timed-out command times out again


The messages from /var/log/messages are:

Mar  9 19:36:30 badger /kernel: sd3(ahc0:3:0): timed out in message out
phase, SCSISIGI == 0x48
Mar  9 19:36:30 badger /kernel: sd8(ahc0:8:0): timed out in datain phase,
SCSISIGI == 0x44
Mar  9 19:36:31 badger /kernel: sd0(ahc0:0:0): timed out in message out
phase, SCSISIGI == 0x48
Mar  9 19:36:39 badger /kernel: sd0(ahc0:0:0): timed out while idle,
LASTPHASE == 0x1, SCSISIGI == 0x0
Mar 10 01:19:56 badger /kernel: sd1(ahc1:1:0): timed out while idle,
LASTPHASE == 0x1, SCSISIGI == 0x0
Mar 13 03:30:51 badger /kernel: sd1(ahc1:1:0): timed out while idle,
LASTPHASE == 0x1, SCSISIGI == 0xe6


The system has (2) Adaptec 2940 Ultra SCSI host adapter with (2) 9GB and
(2) 4.5GB drives on each.
It only crashes under high disk usage.
