Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-freebsd-current@FreeBSD.ORG Precedence: bulk X-Loop: FreeBSD.ORG I made world last night from FreeBSD 2.2.5 to 3, following the instructions in http://www.nothing-going-on.demon.co.uk/FreeBSD/make-world/make-world.html make world appeared to be successful, so I then updated /etc. Unfortunately, lots of commands like vi didn't work (I think because of library problems---other commands did work but gave a message that a library minor version was 0 not 1 as expected). The make in /usr/src/etc, and MAKEDEV failed and compiling the kernel failed, too. I have since had to reboot, and now I can't mount /usr (though I probably could using the CD set), since mount doesn't work. Does anyone know what I can do to get round this problem? Thanks, Ben.
