https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D261651 Bug ID: 261651 Summary: System boots only without network with intel e1000 adapter Product: Base System Version: 12.3-STABLE Hardware: amd64 OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: bin Assignee: bugs@FreeBSD.org Reporter: tschweikle@gmail.com System boots only until network starts to initialize. At the second "ifconf= ig" it will hang indefinitely. Booting into single user, or booting without net= work makes it boot to login. You can then configure networking using one "ifconfig em0 172.19.18.98 netm= ask 255.255.255.0". Calling ifconfig a second time, even without any parameter given, will make= it hang. ctrl-c wont stop this process, same for ctrl-z. After defining a default route you may use networking as normal. Hardware: - Intel e1000, seen as em0 uname -a: FreeBSD 12.3-STABLE FreeBSD 12.3-STABLE stable/12-n234720-b02fa10699b2 FBSD12 amd64 Since virtualization with VMware or KVM-Qemu can emulate an Intel e1000 ada= pter you can observe the same with virtual machines running as guest within VMwa= re Workstation or KVM-Qemu. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.=
