Two things I can think of offhand:

For FreeBSD-specific things (such as how to handle packages), take a peek at
the FreeBSD Handbook:
  http://www.freebsd.org/handbook/handbook.html

For general help with Unix commands, try the command "apropos".  For
instance, to find commands which have something to do with passwords, issue
the command "apropos password".  This should give you a list of manual pages
which are appropriate to the keyword.
