Hi Adrian,
Thanks for the prompt reply. 

Those messages are happening often on this machine. I have some other Atheros cards to try (maybe another 9280) and have a 1/2 height one on order. This machine is made for a 1/2 height BC card but i ripped it out and have the full size Atheros 9280 taped in place. :)
Sometimes this also happens on another machine with a 9280, but only occasionally. Same thing, seems like it can't find the channel for awhile. ifconfig shows it all over the place.
That's happened at home in San Jose, which could be kinda noisy I suppose. But also in office in Los Altos Hills where it's not seemingly so noisy.
