Well, I have a CDU33A, and it works great with the cdu31a driver, only setup it correctly with the boot -c UserConfig menu. My CD is on a Sound Blaster Vibra16 card, so I don't know about your sound card, but if I remember well, there were some chat about this card in this list, search on www.freebsd.org under the search menu.
