I’m not personally aware of any such work that needs to be done, but that
doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.

I’d start by looking at https://wiki.freebsd.org/JuniorJobs and
https://wiki.freebsd.org/IdeasPage Some of those might be outdated, so be sure
to talk to the listed technical contact before you do a lot of work.
