fvwm2
ran 4.3-stable for months and months
dmesg appended

disk access locks up.  i.e., the window manager will let me swap windows.
the mouse moves.  i can type into an xterm.  but if what i type requires
a disk access, that window is now dead.

this happend once yesterday and now twice today.
