'make world' is free to > expand and update them. make world doesn't even know it exists. /stand isn't present in /etc/mtree/BSD.root.dist and only exists for systems installed with sysinstall. If you have your own install script that newfs's a disk and untars the base dist, you won't have a /stand directory. > If not, then please have sysinstall rm -rf /stand. *shrug*, it is an artifact that has proved useful in the past for system recovery.
