With yet another hokey ATAPI CD-RW problem... Now, to refresh your memory... Hardware: EPoX EP-MVP3G motherboard (VIA MVP3 Apollo), AMD K6-2-3D/300, 128MB RAM My hard disks are all SCSI, and the CD burner is ATAPI (see below). CD-burner: wdc0 at 0x1f0-0x1f7 irq 14 flags 0xa0ff on isa wdc0: unit 0 (atapi): , removable, accel, dma, iordis acd0: drive speed 4125KB/sec, 1860KB cache acd0: supported read types: CD-R, CD-RW, CD-DA, packet track acd0: supported write types: CD-R, CD-RW, test write acd0: Audio: play, 255 volume levels acd0: Mechanism: ejectable tray acd0: Medium: no/blank disc inside, unlocked, lock protected (This is an OEM version of a JVC ATAPI CD-RW drive, Model 2080. This drive is marketed by Pacific Digital as the "2X24X2". Web site http://www.1pdc.com/) OS: FreeBSD 3.2-STABLE (as of 5/27/99, mid-afternoon) ** NOTE: SINCE MY LAST POST HERE, I HAVE UPGRADED TO 3.2 ** Thanks to all who responded to my problem with "rezero failed" errors when burning CD's. I was told that 3.2-RELEASE and later has corrected this problem. This morning I `made world' with the latest RELENG_3 sources (3.2-STABLE), and now I can successfully burn data CD's!!! However, I cannot burn audio CD's. The process (blank [in the case of CD-RW], prepdisk [tried both single and doule speed], and nextwriteable) works fine. However, when the audio data is actually being written to the device (using dd/team), the write fails with I/O error and the following appears in the dmesg buffer: atapi0:0: ERROR 6, status=50, error=0 I am using the standard "burnaudio" script (in /usr/share/examples/atapi) with the /dev/racd0c device. I have successfully burned audio w/this drive using Linux (xcdroast) and Windows. Any clues? Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
