Installed wrapper from ports (CD again) X appeared to work fine at this point (still does - just not with KDE) Installed KDE2 from the CD using "pkg_add". The installation process appeared to work (no error messages). I then appended .xinitrc as described in the handbook to have KDE as my default desktop. X works using the "startx" command but doesn't launch KDE Attempting to manually launch KDE from within X gives the following error message: $ startkde /usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libqt2.so.4" not found /usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libqt2.so.4" not found /usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libqt2.so.4" not found /usr/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libqt2.so.4" not found connect() failed: : No such file or directory $ When I was first installing FreeBSD from CD, I installed it with X and KDE through the installation manager and it worked (just at very low resolution). thanks chris To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
