This was not the case in 4.1-stable. I tried to compile the kernel with the apm.c file from 4.1-stable, but the problem was still there with the modified kernel. The problem looks very similar to http://www.FreeBSD.org/cgi/query-pr.cgi?pr=20375 Do you have any further information on the problem?
