I see the same problem with > partitions created by Linux, which uses the Windows'y version of CHS. GEOM_PART spews warnings like this (IIRC the same ones) for partitions created by FreeBSD when FreeBSD actually knew the correct (fictitious BIOS) geometry. Killing GEOM_PART stopped them.
