Hi All! I'm trying to build up a redundant architecture based upon FreeBSD. So i bought a diskarray with room for 8 SCSI disks (SCA) and a couple of PCs with LVD SCSI controller (ASB3940U2W-00). I installed FreeBSD4.5 on both the PCs and connected the diskarray trough a external SCSI3 (68pin) cable. But ,as soon as i boot up the first PC, the kernel stopped at the very beginning of SCSI scan ,and after a while ,it comes up with the following message: (probe0:adw0:0:8:0) ACB 0xcb781074 - timed out and few minutes after that it panic. No disk were probed at all. I tried with many configuration even with a single disk on the array ,but without results. Any clue about this? Is it possible that the problem is somewhat cabling-related? +----------------------+ | | | +---+ +---+ +---+ | | | 1 | | 2 | | 3 | | | | | | | | | | <--SCSI DRIVES | ++-++ ++-++ ++-++ | | | | | | | | | | | +----+ +----+ | | | | | | <--LVD CABLES | +---------+ | | | | | | +------------|-----+---+ <---|---------SCSI SE terminator or second PC... | <-- 68 Pin SCSI3 External Cable | +------------------+----+ | FreeBSD + ASB3940U2W | +-----------------------+ Bye!
