In -stable, the last message I get is 'mounting root from ufs:/dev/ad0s2a' and then the system hangs. However, on -current, after that message I also get two messages which say that fsck exited on signal 8. There's some brief disk activity but nothing else appears on the screen. The only thing to do is press Ctrl-Alt-Delete.
