Here's a couple of steps to help us both out: See if Linux can mount it's own NFS shares. What is the exact error FreeBSD install spits out with the install? What does the FreeBSD install debug console say? (hit atl+f2 to see it, alt+f1 to get back) Any messages in the Linux boxes's log files?
