When I first thought of cross compiling for Windows, I started by reading the online documentation at the mingw32 web sites. It was quite unreadable, giving one no place to start. I still wouldn't know how to cross compile for Windows under Linux. By contrast, the mingw32 ports in FreeBSD simply worked out of the box, and it was a tremendous relief to see how effective and simple it was. Stephen
