1) Ignore the "syslog" messages, or update to -current and the -current
   Linux emulation, which "fixes" the Linux misimplementation of syslog.

2) To get rid of the bind problem, as root, type the following:

echo "order bind,hosts" > /compat/linux/etc/host.conf
cd "wherever Linux Netscape lives"
mv netscape netscape.linux
cat > netsacpe <<EOF
#!/bin/sh
#
# shell script to run netscape

RESOLV_HOST_CONF=/compat/linux/etc/host.conf
export RESOLV_HOST_CONF
netscape.linux
EOF
chmod 755 netscape
