Dear Peter, > > i have linux_enabled="YES" in my rc.conf. and when i try to > install it > from ports i still get error about ALT_BOOTDIR not pointing to a valid > jdk1.2. > The first issue to solve is to get the Linux JDK up and running. I.e. typing "java -version" at the prompt should not give you any errors. Once that is done you can retry the JDK build. > > what can i be doing that linux-jdk1.2.2 is not running? > I am not sure, to be honest. It's hard to tell from here. Try to use kldstat to see if the Linux kernel module is loaded or not. Does the box have X11 installed? Do you have another machine to test this on? I hate to give you a Windows--type solution, but perhaps you should remove the linux_base and related ports and the linux JDK and reinstall those. I vaguely remember that there were issues with the linuxulator prior to version 6.1. Search the mailing list archives for the error message you get, and see if anything compes up. http://www.geocrawler.com/ Kees Jan ================================================ You are only young once, but you can stay immature all your life.
