Borrow a dos-bootfloppy (format a: /s, copy c:\dos\command.com a:) boot on it, remove it and insert the driver disk, which probably came with your 3c509. (If lost, you can get it from www.3com.com). Run the setup-program (can't remember the name), and change the port from "auto select" to bnc,utp or aui, depending on what you use.
