I just downloaded and it to a floppy-disk. Rebootet system and firstly used the "-c" command at boot-prompt. Set irq for "com2" to five, because there's the modem conected to and otherwise conflicts will appear (left the rest at standard or deleted them). Afterwards I followed the occuring screens as described in handbook. For sure I selected installing via ftp and ppp via com2. Pressed then ALT+F3 as recommended and first tried the "term"-command. Problem 1: After typing "term" and no input from keyboard was possible anymore. After reboot and again doing all the above described procedure, I tried other option in ppp-mode, but as you assume infact of this mail, I couldnt send a simple "at" to the modem. I believe in cleverness of those people who wrote the freebsd for PC's. If is sad, that one can do install by downloading "boot.flp" and get the rest of the OS via ftp, after rebooting the PC and following the appearring screens in a correct way, I think it must be possible to get a modem run from kernel as the only available programm at this stage of setup. So, where's my mistake ? Does anyone can give me usefull tips, how to go on ? So far for this time. Bye. peter
