I can confirm the same on my x220 (and this is a regression). Switching over to another ttyv and back "fixes" it as trasz@ noted. I think the issue isn't that the backlight isn't on; I think it's that the frame buffer contents aren't restored properly and are left as all black when resuming on the console. -- John Baldwin
