"IDE Block Mode" (enabled/disabled) > After disabling this the problem went away. I believe you will find that the chip on your IDE controller is an RZ1000. This is a known bug with that chip. Other known IDE controller bugs are things like lack of bus buffers on the cheaper models, etc..
