Excactly what I wrote:
bsd.kern.mk:CFLAGS+=    -mno-fp-regs -ffixed-8 -Wa,-mev56
This is to build GENERIC kernel with CPUTYPE=ev4 but still have the
ability to use bwx assembly for specific platform support.
But that was not what this commit was about.
