I have the same problem on FreeBSD 11.2-RELEASE (amd64) installed on iMac (=
efi
boot).

vendor=3D'Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI]'
device=3D'RV770/M98L [Mobility Radeon HD 4850]

And as I read there are a problems (or were) with Raden graphics card and E=
fi
boot.

Update didn't worj for me and I downgraded the port and it works again..
When I have a time, I do not have now I will try the new driver again.

And as they said before /usr/ports/UPDATING is not so useful in this case.
