There are two ways to get freebsd through ftp. Format your hard drive so you have two partitions. Download all the files to the DOS/windows Partrition and run the freebsd boot disk and in the options choose to install from a DOS partition. This link tells you how to create the boot disk http://www.freebsd.org/handbook/install.html You download the files from here ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD refer to the readme file or you could just make a boot floppy and during the installation options choose ftp. YOu'll have to know your ip address you isp assigns you assuming your doing it via modem and prepare to wait a long time.
