I installed a clean FreeBSD 4.5 only last week and I found several ports which were broken in this respect: xmms, icewm, wmaker, linux-base 7.1 were the most prominent. But there many other ports which require gettext 0.10.35. Portupgrade or make install will not install gettext-old because the dependency is gettext and not libintl and gettext _is_ installed (only the "wrong" version).
