Did anyone ever successfully compile KDE?

I get this error constantly:

/usr/local/qt/include/qglist.h:101:
method `void * QGList::last()' is protected
manager.C:1776: within this context

manager.C:1768: warning: `class Client * result' might be used
uninitialized in this function

What is this "protected" thing that pops up everytime
and also the error "might be used uninitialized in this
function"?

Anyone every got around this?

-Jacques
