Didn't work no matter what I tried as it seemed to have a different-than-standard data placement in the data frame. In the end I had to make some changes (ugly hacks) to ums.c and now it works fine (but only with this mouse!). If someone is in (desperate) need for it or wants an advice, maybe I can help.
