https://bugs.freebsd.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=3D218750 Bug ID: 218750 Summary: devel/dbus: X11 fails to start because /etc/machine-id missing under 10.3 RELEASE 2017Q2 Product: Ports & Packages Version: Latest Hardware: Any OS: Any Status: New Severity: Affects Only Me Priority: --- Component: Individual Port(s) Assignee: gnome@FreeBSD.org Reporter: scratch65535@att.net Assignee: gnome@FreeBSD.org Flags: maintainer-feedback?(gnome@FreeBSD.org) Apparently, as of the current quarter, dbus wants to see a unique id in /etc/machine-id, a file that did not previously exist. I discovered that t= his morning when X failed to start because the file wasn't found. I created it= per documentation, and X started. The pkg upgrade process (or the dbus part) should create that file when not found, if it expects to see it. The id is apparently unconnected to anythi= ng else in the world, so if I can create it in an ad-hoc way, surely dbus itse= lf can. --=20 You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.=
