Although quite a few people like the Excite search engine
(http://www.excite.com), I prefer ht://dig. You can get it from
http://htdig.sdsu.edu. You need to work on it a bit, though. 

Unatr it, and you'll see that it comes with it's own perl, which you need
to get rid of. Copy /usr/bin/perl to that directory. I tarred it up again,
and it worked fine.
